Our Story
Crafted Hollow Mercantile began on the road, set up at vendor events and craft fairs with our custom shirts, tumblers, and handmade goods. What started as a way to share our creativity quickly turned into something bigger. As we traveled from event to event, we met countless talented local makers who all shared the same challenge: limited opportunities to consistently sell their work and connect with their communities.
Those conversations planted the seed for Crafted Hollow Mercantile.
We realized that there was a real need for a dedicated space where local vendors could showcase their goods beyond weekends and pop-up events, a place that valued handmade, small-batch, and locally produced items over mass-produced alternatives. A space built not just for selling, but for supporting.
That vision led us to Hartwick, NY, the geographic heart of Otsego County. Choosing Hartwick was intentional. Sitting at the center of the county, it allows us to serve as a hub where makers, farmers, and small businesses from across the region can come together and reach the wider community .
Every item we offer, whether made by us or by another local vendor, is chosen with care and purpose. From everyday essentials to one-of-a-kind finds, each product represents honest work, creativity, and local pride.
Beyond the goods on our shelves, community connecting is at the heart of what we do. We plan to host events and experiences designed to bring people together, kids' craft days, seasonal activities, vendor showcases, and weekend flea markets and craft fairs that highlight antiques, vintage finds and local artisan goods. These events give vendors more opportunities to be seen while creating meaningful and welcoming experiences for families and neighbors.
Giving back is also a core part of our mission. Through give-back initiatives, fundraising events, and community-focused partnerships, we support local causes, organizations, and families whenever we can. Whether it's donating a portion of sales, hosting benefit events, or using our space to spotlight local needs, we believe a business should actively contribute to the community it serves.
